@becha we did the first leg of that trip for our winter solstice vacation. But not in one sitting 
it was an adventure.
Night train Amsterdam Basel, stayed a few days, fast train to Milan, stayed a few days and then in one day: Milan to Brig, did a day hike, took the slow train over the mountain pass to Bern, had fondue, train to Basel to catch our night train back to Amsterdam. It was great fun
