These uPol micro dcdc converters from TDK are pretty neat- they sandwich the DCDC IC inside of a small circuit board, then mount an inductor and capacitors directly on top to save space. I was curious how they were packaged so I did some destructive analysis on one. https://www.digikey.nl/short/zz97bt5v
@theterg My partner made a 3d printed adapter for mounting a cell phone camera to an eyepiece, but it wasn't ideal either.
@theterg The microscope came with a poor quality camera that happened to have a C-mount, so I just replaced it with the RPi camera. The tube does have a piece of glass in it. The camera is a little wobbly so the focal plane isn't totally aligned; might take a little work to shore that up- perhaps it is contributing to lack of clarity in the magnified photos.
@tedyapo Excellent way to solve any arguments about how they should be labeled!
@th The main feature of that device is a clock generator/distributor, the Pi is just used to configure it over SPI
@kvnweb Yeah, that one is for DIY clients. Small cut tape components aren't useful in a pro setting, and the range of items that they sell is too broad as well. Guessing Hong Kong based on the currency and pricing?
