@th @holly Ok, but I must say, I really like the BMX influence in bike design these days. I didn't particularly care for the super low top tube when they started doing it to road bikes, but for an MTB / cruiser / fatbike type thing, I love it. And I love the raised handlebars with the brace like that.

Maybe not the Walmart brand one, but I saw a Cannondale like this the other day that was just gorgeous.

@eviloatmeal @th Yeah, the Reno ones are nice for the dry riverbed off-roading that you do at Burning Man, the fat tires are stable in thick dust. But the others are the Netherlands’ national bike share bikes and are basically what you get when people who are born with a bicycle between their legs create the most practical and accessible, yet simple, commuter bike they can think of. Step-through is a vital feature.

@holly @th Oh, yes, the previous image. Yes. I was just commenting on the Reno ones. Yeah, I like Dutch-style bikes a lot for their pragmatic features. Although both of these two images feature bicycles designed with extremely flat terrain in mind (i.e. one gear), which is less convenient in most places I've biked.

@holly @eviloatmeal @th i remember getting to test this bike a few years back at utrecht centraal. They had like three types of bikes, a little racing track, and i think they gave me orange juice for filling out the questionaire on which bike was best?

Anyways love these bikes

@joop @eviloatmeal @th Haha, I love that! My only quibble with them is they could be a little more upright. But it’s only a small quibble.
