Omg, there’s a terminal emulator for iOS. I’m surfing the filesystem from a command line and editing code in vi — on my iPad! And it lets you open multiple windows (so you can edit multiple files at the same time) and since you have access to the file system you don’t have to share sheet all over the place to get those files open in the app. Here’s the github page, but you can also find it in the app store. github.com/holzschu/a-shell

@holly are you using an external keyboard? I can't imagine using an on-screen keyboard for writing code, but anything is possible

@phooky oh hell yes, I just have a magic keyboard plugged in. Lightweight, I can type with the keyboard in my lap and the iPad on a table, and bonus: it has an escape key! (I’m trying to imagine vi with an on-screen keyboard. *shudders*)
