Loved these ancient tandem trikes in the Fiets Museum in Nijmegen where the person in the front rides bicycle-style and the person in the “coach” in the back had pedals and hand cranks.

Modern tandems are steered from the front, but this one is designed for the man to sit in the back, so of course…
