Best vacation ever! Sailing in the Mediterranean on the clipper Stad Amsterdam

@jon Hey, when you’re done with trains can you do ferries?? We’re trying to avoid flying and are going from Amsterdam to Ibiza. Rail portion of the trip went great, but the Barcelona to Ibiza ferry has been a mess and we haven’t even boarded yet. If you look up reviews of GNV and Trasmed you can get a taste of the misery, but here’s the absurd bit.. they’re going to make us take a BUS to that boat outside across the street.

This Catalonian sparkling water is kinda salty. I’m not not into it. Especially after sweating all day walking around the city.

Behold: the Potbelly Polyfil tree. I wonder if you can spin yarn from the fruit it’s dropped everywhere

Modern tandems are steered from the front, but this one is designed for the man to sit in the back, so of course…

Loved these ancient tandem trikes in the Fiets Museum in Nijmegen where the person in the front rides bicycle-style and the person in the “coach” in the back had pedals and hand cranks.

The Escher exhibit at the Kunst Museum in Den Haag has this one piece up where you can’t get to it to read the description unless you can climb stairs like David Bowie

@gemeenteamsterdam There's a sharp bit of concrete sticking up in the fietspad at De Clercqstraat and Da Costakade. We couldn't avoid it in time and it gave us a flat ☹️ I realize this is a temporary lane, but maybe this hazard could be smoothed over or ground down?

How big are Amsterdam’s underground trash receptacles? This big!

Our tandem is light enough that @th can carry it up the train stairs. Unlike my electric half bike that not even He-Man could lift.

We got a tandem! We used to have a Burley years ago and it was a blast, and now that we’re in the land of bike paths we figured we should maybe get another one.
