There is a new law that says you must specifically request your ballot *every* year. If you want to vote in the primaries or the general election, you must request your ballot.
You can do so very easily via this website: https://www.votefromabroad.org
It requires you to know your registration information and to upload a signature. Takes 5-10 minutes.
It's run by Democrats Abroad but will work for members of any or no party.

How to migrate from one Mastodon server to another without losing followers:
1. Sign up on new server
2. On NEW server: Go to Account -> Moving FROM another account
3. Enter old account's handle
4. On OLD server: Go to Account -> Moving TO another account
5. Enter new account's handle and submit
I love how @privacyint is not making recommendations that don't share your data, with the rationale that privacy issues shouldn't be something the user is responsible for fixing or working around -- it should be on the companies to stop collecting uer data.
Amen. If only techies are able to protect themselves the privacy problem will never be solved because we are few and so many others will remain exploitable. We need strong government policies that are enforced. #36c3
