Windmills are producing: 3442 MW
Solar is producing: 746 MW

So if we do the math, wind + solar = 98.7% of our energy use right now is 100% renewable

Just a reminder that not only can we fix climate change, we are fixing it.

Please make your events accessible.

This means not merely making it possible to get into the room, but creating networking/conversation spaces where it is easy to sit down without leaving the conversation - a mix of bar stools with high tables and lower chairs with coffee tables, for example.

Many people can’t stand for long periods without causing themselves great pain and further injury, (ask me why I can hardly walk today), or risking fainting, but sitting down often means, at best, a lonely chair on the edge of the room, at worst leaving the event entirely.

You can facilitate circulation by periodically reminding guests to move and mingle - this is also helpful for people who are struggling to think of a polite way to escape a conversation, or meet new people.

Hey, can y'all please CW examples of transphobia, e.g. screenshots of transphobic articles? My mental health is not great today and I'm guessing a lot of other trans people's isn't either.

if you're an instance mod for a journalism instance that has rules regarding code of conduct.

but if when someone breaks that code of conduct, you suddenly cant moderate because, well that would be "limiting speech of journalists",

then congrats, that clearly spottable rake has been laying there in the grass since november when you set up the instance and we've ALL been watching and waiting for you to walk right up on it and it to slam you in the face as it just has.

in fact if you look over the fence youll see the other journalism instance mod laying in the grass still from when he did it many weeks prior to you, hey same rake!

moderators limit speech as it breaks their code of conduct, thats their job

journalism also strongly stands for not writing things that would be harmful to people due to clear inaccuracies or fallacies.

Good morning, the empty bookshelves in Florida schools keep my head busy, since I'm a teacher with a library in my classroom in Berlin myself. That's a history lesson in front of our very eyes and exactly how fascism started in Germany. Books were banned and then burnt and everyone said, well, I can't do anything, I don't want to loose my job, I don't like it, but... Many little steps were made by many little people who didn't stand up against a new little rule. You know how this ends.
