I was a very disappointed young person the day I realized that coffee cake didn’t have coffee in it!

@DavidM_yeg how are you making it ? The coffee cake recipe I use when I make it certainly has some coffee in there. It's not much. But there is coffee in there.

Oh interesting… can you share the recipe? I’m interested in trying an actual coffee cake but haven’t seen a recipe that excited me enough to make it, yet.

@DavidM_yeg this is approximately the recipe I use. My version has 225g of butter, sugar, flour, but everything else is about the same.
