The UK establishment simply won't allow a true progressive to run things, which is why Corbyn had to be removed. Antisemitism was a good pretext to achieve that. So yes, what you have now is a Labour party that is Tory-lite.

From now on when I read or watch news pieces and pundit discussions about “the economy” I’ll think of this…

Sometimes the feeling I get about the future of the UK is that we have been an economic sponge that has been going through the process of being finally wrung out over the last decades before being thrown in to the dustbin of history.

Once any remaining value has been drained out of the country by whatever means we will be left picking up the pieces while the rapacious agents of our problems move on to focus more closely on another victim.

I guess that when the BoE complains about workers attempts to repair their finances (via wage rises) as being inflationary, they're looking the other way from the London Stock Exchange boos who has just seen his pay double to £13m; that's merely a just reward for his hard work (despite serious problems at the LSEx).

These pesky workers on the other hand demanding wage rises to make up for their lowered standard of living - well that's just greedy.
