@th it does, to some extent. Tough to tell at this angle, but it has at least some depth.
Fortunately the anaglyph glasses are still in my copy of Inside the Vacuum Tube (Rider, 1947). ;-)

@th the chest has depth, but the hindquarters, legs, and head go flat. I think there's a perspective shear as some others have suggested. It may be simply too aggressive?
@th I hope you get it sorted out! I looked up the anaglyphs in that book, and the blue that they use is very pale, almost pastel, which is probably why the red filter isn't eliminating yours.
I'm not sure you want to optimize for a 1945 cardboard cutout lens holder from a book that no one else has, of course. ;-)
