E-ink is a relaxing artifact from a calmer future.

@th ah the reMarkable2. I have the rM1 now for a few years and it's great for reading and writing, but the software lacks so much in usability, a real shame. Luckily it sprouted an active developer/hacker community.

@artelse @th i have one of these on the way, at least in theory. very looking forward to feeding it a stack of booklike documents i just cannot imagine trying to read on a monitor...

@brennen @th I never want to go back to an iPad or LCD screen for reading. After taking a lot of notes, it lacks serious organizational features. It becomes hard to find things back as nothing is of course OCR'ed and indexed. Only a filename search exists. Back as Trammell says, it's a view into the future.

@artelse @th i'm vaguely hoping that i'm going to be able to hack some integration with my weirdo bespoke note-taking setup into mine, but if it just turns out to be a real nice e-reader i can probably live with that.

@th I love this device. My wife took over my rM1 and is rocking it even more than me, even though she was sceptical about it before.
I still think the rM1 is the device that can be tossed around more without damaging it (like an actual book)
