Does anyone else have Bosch-Siemens appliances they want to add to their home automation? I've made some initial steps in decoding the local network protocol and can talk to my new dishwasher over the TLS PSK websocket interface: github.com/osresearch/hcpy

@th can you help me understand what you're getting by talking to your dishwasher remotely? is this so you can run it when you're away and you forgot to hit start before leaving? what else do you gain?

@t54r4n1 I can't answer for @th. But for me there would be able to react on the dishwasher being finished. That's either to be able to directly unload it or to at least open the window shortly to get out the humidity.

@marix @t54r4n1 we already have a household alerting and notification system, but the vendor application doesn't have any way to do cross platform integration.

@t54r4n1 @th With appliances spread over multiple levels in our home, and with them sometimes aborting with errors, I think this could be useful for me (if I had appliances with that feature).

@th OT: Bosch is a stewardship lead company where employees can not own shares of the company. Robert Bosch learnt this the hard way in the 1930s which has lead to a social responsible business. Wished this business model would be the norm.

@th yes but luckily they’re so old they don’t have networking 😅

@th accidentally hooked this up to my hieronymus bosch-siemens appliance and now have a websocket to hell
