Thanks to @bleeptrack's suggestion, i now have an e-ink lunar-phase display on a twenty-four hour analog watch.

In addition to the lunar phase, the e-ink watch shows daylight hours and solar noon, as well as the upcoming moon-rise and set times. Source code: github.com/osresearch/moon-wat

Now with a text mode for when you want the exact moment of location and altitude adjusted celestial events.

@th
can you share the model please? or is it DIY?

@th @bleeptrack this is Very Good. bonus points for the iso date!!!!

@th oh wow I didn't realise that someone was finally making a decent smartwatch now.

@th I hadn't seen those watches yet, does the library work for every hybrid HR from Fossil?

@arjen no idea - I only have the Skagen Hybrid Gen 6 (sold in NL as "SKT3200"), although my watch code is using the generic `Fossil-HR-SDK` library so maybe?

@th @bleeptrack 24 hour analogue watches are great. They should all be like that.

@th @bleeptrack Ah, crap. I thought I could get around buying one of these.

@th @bleeptrack That‘s a nice watch! Is it possible to throw Alexa out?

@maumau
Easiest would be to grab one before gen 6. These come without Alexa/mic
@th

@fnord @maumau @bleeptrack gadgetbridge has been ok with patched version for gen 6 support: codeberg.org/Freeyourgadget/Ga
sometimes `adb` is able to reinstall watchface automatically, occasionally requires phone reboot to reconnect. haven't tried the alexa integration.

@th @bleeptrack which watch is this? is it gadgetbridge compatible?
