@th main difference is probably drive strength and rise time, so maybe stick a 22R in series with logic lines just to be super safe, but otherwise I can't think of anything.

@nintegge @th one other thing I just thought of is that these old devices have zero built in ESD protection, so they should be treated with care. most modern IC packages come with TVS clamps built in, as do some MOSFETs, and they're good to a handful of kV just to offer some modicum of protection against smaller discharge events. we mostly take that for granted these days.
