@quixoticgeek see avherald.com. This is an OLDER MODEL 737, not a MAX: they stopped manufacturing -800s 4 years ago, and the flight wasn't jeopardized. Composite panels break every day on some of the 50,000 civil aviation flights around the world because they take a battering in flight, but the plane is fine and the broken chunk didn't hit anything.

It's open season on Boeing right now, hence this silly season nonsense.

@cstross that doesn't give me as much reassurance as you might hope. That stuff falls off all the time is not great giving the number of air craft that fly over my home every day...
