Reminded by a survey from @sinituulia. I need a new backpack. Mostly for running errands around town, going to the supermarket etc... needs to be durable, with an external mesh side pocket for a water bottle. Big enough to also fit a laptop would be good.
What do people recommend?

Yeah I got it through their Kickstarter, so a bit cheaper. But it's damn good quality.
@quixoticgeek been very happy with my osprey talon (or equivalent for shorter people). Smallest backpack with proper hip band. 3 mesh pockets, inc 2 on the side, hip pockets, two pockets on top, 1 inside 1 outside for easy reach, space for camel bag. No laptop pocket though, got a sleeve for that. Ah and one shoulder strap pocket.
@wmd i have an osprey tempest. It's been relegated to my tool bag. The straps don't interact well with boobs...
@quixoticgeek @sinituulia I have a Deuter Bike 1 20. Two side mesh pockets, suitable for leeks, zipaway loaf-holding net, zipaway waterproof cover. Fits a laptop. Comfortable back padding.
@quixoticgeek @sinituulia Years ago I bought a messenger bag from Bagaboo (2017) (https://bagaboo-bags.com) It is so good my wife snatched it from me. It's not cheap, but it is high quality stuff... And you can completely customize your bag.
That said... Blahol (https://blahol.com) from Poland does similar thing. High quality, hand made stuff... I'm kind of tempted to get a Nouvelle Vague from them for myself.
@quixoticgeek I'm vey happy with my osprey nebula backpack. Still going strong after 6 years of daily use, does have some minor tears in the mesh pockets.

It's definitely on the pricier side, but I have a Peak Design "Everyday Backpack." I've used it more or less every day in the past seven years and it's still in pretty good condition aside from minor things. Has side pockets for water etc, lots of little internal pouches for misc stuff, expands pretty well to deal with overfilling, laptop pocket, straps for attaching bigger things to the outside, etc, etc.
