Last night for some reason, despite being plugged into a power bank, my phone battery died. Which given its my alarm clock, is suboptimal. Hopefully tonight this doesn't happen again.
@kim yes thats a fun failure mode. This pack only had 3 usb a outputs, two micro usb inputs. And no usb c.
@quixoticgeek On a related whim, I've just spent a quality few minutes connecting and reconnecting a pair of phones with a USB-C cable. Direction seems to be picked at random. Lovely.
@kim why the hell would headphones be setup as a power delivery source ?!?!?
@quixoticgeek Mobile telephones m'lud. My headphones accept baseband audio on a 3.5mm jack, like dog intended.
@kim what sort of derangement is needed to look at a set of headphones and think "you know what, let's charge the phone off these!"
@quixoticgeek @kim solar cells on the headband?
@between_beyond @kim only for those who can't do solar yield maths...
@quixoticgeek Delightful failure mode encountered by one of our campers at the weekend: Phone connected to new power bank by USB-C to USB-C cable (as used with USB-C wall charger). Bank woke up and gave a full 4 charge lights, but phone failed to take a charge.
I eventually realised the power bank was charging itself from the phone, and we scrounged up a USB-A to USB-C cable.
Possibly some RTFM required, but still a nasty gotcha.
