The Lilygo 4.7" e-ink esp32 is a nice package, although the example software is 1-out-of-5-stars quality. The text rendering has no alignment or rotation control, and the refresh waveform does not work on LiPo battery voltages. The whites turn gray after a while and the details all turn blurry.
In the few minutes between noticing this Akai MG1212 on the street and fetching my bike, it was gone.
Has anyone else found a good self-hosted open source photo tool to replace Google Photos and Flickr? I'm experimenting with photoprism and it seems almost perfect except that the sync is not automatic and the lack of an app makes sorting while mobile a challenge.
